How to choose equipments for cleaning baby bottles
- Choose mild cleaning liquid specially for cleaning baby bottles to avoid chemical contamination
- Opt for mild baby bottle liquid with natural extracts
- Select cleaning products that are tested for safety and contamination-free
- Use soft cleaning sponge specially made for cleaning baby bottles
- Only use quality dishwasher that is not overheated since the bottles might be deformed.
Steps for cleaning baby bottles
- Take bottle apart when cleaning. Put the nipple, cap, ring and bottle into the sink and pour hot water to clean the old spoiled milk before rinsing out.
- Fill the sink with hot water and mild cleaning liquid before cleaning inside the bottle with sponge. Do not rub the bottle hard with sponge since it will leave scratches and reduce its lifetime.
- Clean bottles with running water for 2 times. Gently rub the bottle with your fingers to remove all traces of trapped milk, cleaning liquid and their smell.
- Dry the bottles by putting them in the dish drainer before keeping them. Make sure that the air can get in the bottles.
- To sterilize the bottles after washing to kill the bacteria, put the bottles (except nipples) into hot water for 15 minutes. Study the manual if you have an electronic stream bottle sterilizer. Normally, it will take 10 minutes to sterilize the bottles.
Tips : After washing and sterilizing, you should dry the bottles in the dish drainer. Drying with the air is better than the sunlight since the latter might degenerate the bottle. In addition, it is recommended that you choose the bottles made of BPA-free plastic to avoid chemical contamination.
