At present, severe diarrhea or Rotavirus disease is a common illness that often found in the first two years of life, particularly in infants and young children that the immunity system hasn’t fully mature.
However, the children infected with Rotavirus from nature will develop immunity. As a result, if they're infected with the virus again, the symptoms won’t be as severe as the first time.
What are the symptoms if infected?
When infected with Rotavirus, the incubation period will last about 2 days, causing vomiting in the first few days. The patients may experience watery stool, continuous defecation, and gushing defecation for about 3-8 days. Having a fever, cough, and a little mucus are also possible.
If the children don’t take enough oral rehydration salt, they might get dehydration, minerals in blood disorders, and can cause acid blood.
How are children infected?
Just by touching the contaminated table, benches, or toys. When the children touch such object and put their hands in the mouth, they can easily infect with Rotavirus.
Protect your children from the Rotavirus
The vaccinated children still have a chance of being infected by the Rotavirus, but most symptoms are not severe.
