When children begin to have their own growing teeth and eat foods like adults, there are problems of difficulty in eating meals because they tend to enjoy playing more than eating foods. This time, we would like to introduce parents with children foods that can persuade them to eat more.
Some children are addicted to sweets because they follow older children or because they are spoiled by family members. This is not good for them as there are many disadvantages such as tooth decay, diabetes, and malnutrition disease because when children are full of sweets they have eaten, there is no space left for foods in the main meal. As a result, their body becomes weaker as they received only junk foods. Besides these evident results, when children are grown up and become adult they will be a person having difficulty in eating foods, unhealthy, and suffer many diseases at early age.
If children are addicted to snacks, mother must use fruits as a hero to help solving this problem. Examples of such delicious fruits include papaya, ripe mango, watermelon, and rose apple. Candies and snacks should be kept away from your house. Also, adjust children’s eating habit to be more regular. Moreover, eating snacks or main meal in front of television should be avoided.
2. Natural Sweetness
Sweet food and children are inseparable because children prefer foods with sweet taste more than others. So, this encourages children to eat more without eating difficulties. However, the recommended sweet menus are not dessert or candies but they are raw materials with their own delicious sweetness that may be applied into menus without adding any more sugar, which causes children addicted to sweet taste.
The mentioned raw materials are onions, Japanese potato, tomato, carrot, sugar snap pea, corn, star gooseberry (sweet leaf), pumpkin, etc. They may be boiled, fried, or steamed as an ingredient of many cooked foods. Children can be impressed with the natural taste without artificial modification.
3. More varieties of menus
Children at this age can get bored easily and always wish to try new tastes. If mothers cook a pot of soup for every meal in a whole week, children may simply refuse to eat. Meal menus should be adjusted and modified for more varieties and not repetitive. For example, adapt the mildly seasoned soup as a soup for noodle, wonton soup, or boiled rice, then add more nutrition with fried pork or chicken. This would already bring back children’s appetite.
4. Mackerel; the source of Omega 3
Omega 3 from Salmon does not come at a low price. Who knows, the normal Mackerel in an ordinary basket contains Omega 3 as much as Salmon, but expensive at all. Besides, Mackerel contains very high protein, easy to eat and not very fishy. In 100 gram of Mackerel, there is 2-3 gram of Omega 3. Each day, the body need approximately 3 gram of Omega 3 for growth of the body and the brain. Simple and familiar cooking methods are frying, clear soups, or salted soups that are all delicious. So, Mackerel is another option that is delicious and healthy, which children hardly refuse.
You see? Cooking foods in menus that attract children to eat more is not difficult. Only if parents are more concerned of basic issues of their children and dedicated to spend more time for cooking as well as being more elaborate in the issue of children’s eating behavior, children will gain more weight as indicated in the standard and also be healthy from the inside.
