What is baby acne?
Baby acne or Acne Neonatorum can be found in infants around two weeks after born mostly in the boys rather than the girls. The cause is still unknown. However, it’s believed that it’s an effect of the changing of Estrogen hormone level.
What does baby acne look like?
Baby acne looks like those the adult has, some tiny little pimples on the baby's face. It’ll reduce and disappear by itself. However, if the acne appears when your baby is 3-6 months old, it’s called Infantile Acne. This type of acne is harder to cure and often found in the baby whom the parents had a lot of acne when they were teenagers.
How to cure baby acne?
Since there’re limitations in using medicine on infants, please consult with your doctor and don’t apply any medication to your baby by yourself.
How to care when my kid has baby acne?
Clean the baby’s face with soap water or liquid soap produced explicitly for babies. Choose mild baby powder and lotion and other baby products made from natural extracts without added oil.
Teen acne
Acne in teens can be from several causes. The girls will start to have acne when they’re 14-15 years old while it’s 16-17 years old for the boys. Only 15% of them will have severe acne. The acne was not deriving from dirtiness, so too much face washing will just cause more irritation, dry skin, and inflammation.
Treatment and care for teen acne
Washing face with mild water soap with balanced pH (around 5.5) which similar to the skin's pH. Apply cream in non-serious cases or some consuming medications along with. In severe cases should consult with a dermatologist for the proper treatment.
