Base on the physiology, the newborn's leg bones will slightly bend. When growing up, the shape of the leg bones will gradually straighten until they’re normal.
Crooked legs are divided into two groups
The first group is the natural crooked legs happen since birth. Most are seen in children or babies. The legs will bend outward. It’s believed that because of the baby's posture while in the womb. When growing up, the legs will gradually straighten. The crook may happen to one leg or both of them.
Another group is the abnormal crooked legs. The crook won’t disappear naturally. If the legs still crook after the child is over 2 years old, it might be because of the pathology of the knee bones. The curved degrees of the legs will be rather high.
How to check if your children have crooked legs?
My children’s legs are crooked; can I bend them into place on my own?
It’s NOT recommended to bend the crooked legs by oneself. The belief that carrying a child around the waist and wearing diapers will make the baby’s legs crook is not true. Crooked legs can be found in healthy children and will disappear after growing up.
