When a child is sick or ill, the parent can check the temperature, give them Tepid sponge bath to reduce the heat, and feed them antipyretic such as aspirin or paracetamol. However, if the child has a high fever or it’s getting worse, you can take them to see a doctor at a hospital which opens 24 hours. You can also go to see a pharmacist at a drugstore while traveling.
If you notice that your children are sick, you should take them to see a doctor as early as possible for a checkup. Various sicknesses take times for the treatment. What is more, medicine needed should be in your carry-on instead of the check-in baggage, and the quantity should be enough for use during your trip. If your children have an infectious disease like Chickenpox, they should be thoroughly cured before traveling so that the disease won’t be contagious to other passengers.
Since a sickness is unpredictable, your children might get sick just while traveling. For instance, if your child has a fever on board, a tepid sponge bath can help reduce the temperature. If you don’t have medicine, you can ask some from the cabin crew. Most of the medicines on board are 500 mg. tablets and liquid drug for young children. (It varies due to the airline policy.)
Have your children take a rest and should not let them play games or watch movies while traveling. If they’re not getting better, you should take them to see a doctor after landing. The most important thing is if your children have a congenital disease, don’t forget to ask for a medical certificate and take the regular medicines with their labels with you.
