The vaccine is a medical supply producing for strengthening the body’s immunity. Vaccine can be divided into 3 groups according to manufacturing processes.
- Killed Vaccine is directly generated by sicknesses such as Pertussis Vaccine (Whooping Cough Vaccine), Hepatitis B Vaccine (HBV), Hepatitis A Vaccine (HAV), Inactivated Polio Vaccine (IPV), and Influenza Vaccine.
- Live Attenuated Vaccine produced from weakened pathogens until they cannot cause any disease but has the ability to activate immunity. For example, there’re BCG Vaccine, Oral Poliovirus Vaccine (OPV), Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccine (MMR) and Chickenpox Vaccine.
- Toxoid Vaccines are based on the detoxified toxic and can be used for eliciting the immunity, usually used for treating diseases caused by pathogen’s toxic such as Diphtheria and Tetanus.
Common Vaccination’s Side Effects in Baby
- Children might have a fever usually in the first few days after getting vaccinated. The heat won’t be high, and the temperature will decrease. Parents should give your baby tepid sponge bath to lower the temperature, especially around the neck and foldable joint areas.
- Pustules will appear on the baby’s skin. Clean them gently using clean cotton soaked with boiled water.
- Some baby might experience pain, swollen, and redness. Tending with a cloth dipped in cold water.
- Rash might appear after vaccinated Measles-Mumps-Rubella Vaccine (MMR) for a week. Most of them are not harmful.
Attention
- Do not get several vaccines cause fever at the same time such as Diphtheria, Tetanus, and Pertussis Vaccine (DTaP) with Typhoid Vaccine.
- If the children are sick, wait until they fully recover before getting vaccinated.
- If your children have a drug allergy or severe side effects after vaccinated, notice the doctor before getting any vaccine.
