How to Treat the White Glaze on my Baby’s Tongue

White glaze on the baby’s tongue may be caused by milk stain after they drink milk, or it may be caused by fungal infection. If the cause is milk stain, there will be white glaze coated on the tongue. If the cause is a fungus, and it’s not appropriately treated, the fungus will spread to all over inside the mouth and the gastrointestinal tract causing the baby to eat less.

How to care and prevent the white glaze

If find white glaze coats thickly on your baby’s tongue of the ball, and it seems too much, the parents need to clean their tongue to reduce the occurrence of the white glaze on the tongue by:

1. Use a clean cloth or gauze soaked with boiled water after left cool to clean the baby’s tongue after the baby drinks milk in the morning and evening.
2. If your baby drinks powdered milk, feed them a glass of water.
3. Don’t let the baby falls asleep while drinking milk. The white glaze is found less in the breastfed babies.
