How to Properly Care for Newborn’s Naval

How to properly care for a baby’s umbilical cord 

If cared correctly, it can reduce the risk of infection for the umbilical cord. Hence, before you clean the umbilical cord;

1. Always wash your hands first.
2. Clean the baby’s navel after a bath with umbilical cord cleansing received from the hospital every time.
3. Start cleaning from the navel’s base inside out. Don’t wipe aimlessly. Since the tip of the naval doesn’t have the nerve, you don’t have to worry about your baby is hurt.
4. Clean the naval every morning and evening until the umbilical cord is dry and fall out.
5. If the baby’s navel seems wet with yellowish liquid, swell redness, and the baby isn’t active, please bring your baby to see the doctor as soon as possible.
