It is a happy time when you see your baby’s development into the age of crawling. It’s the time for him to discover the small world. Nevertheless, most parents are worried about the redness on the baby’s kneecaps and elbows after crawling. What to with the problems and how to treat them? Let’s see our tips.
Crawling with safety
1. Prepare spacious rubber flooring for your baby to crawl around. You might have to put the rubber seat, carpet or clothes on the floor to provide more space for your baby to crawl.
2. Put on long and thick pants for your baby. The clothes can protect her little knees from friction against the floor and reduce skin irritation.
3. If you are outside and the baby wants to crawl on the ground. Avoid hard cement floor or grassy ground since it might cause injury to your baby.
Tips: After crawling, it’s the time to take care of your baby’s knees. After a bath, while the skin is still wet, you can moisturize her skin with baby oil. Apply the oil onto both sides of the knees and massage it to keep her skin moisturized. Apply light lotion or more emollient cream to soften her skin.
