During pregnancy, your skin will face tremendous changes including dryness and imperfections. These problems can be lessened by applying skin lotion, cream or oil. Nevertheless, to make skin beautiful from within, “foods” are important. The foods you eat can also be beneficial to your unborn baby. Let’s see the foods that can benefit both the mother and the unborn baby.
1. Fish
Fish is high in protein, omega 3, vitamin D and selenium. These nutrients improve skin health and benefit the unborn baby’s brain at the same time.
2.Cereals
Brown rice, wheat, corn, oatmeal, dried bean, job tears and sesame that are less processed are high with fiber, vitamin B which improves the blood system and healthy skin. Beans are high in vitamin E which is anti-oxidant. It can help strengthen cells and increase skin moisture.
3.Olive oil
Besides its benefits to skin, olive oil is good for your health. Use the cooking olive oil because it is high in nonunsaturated fats that help control cholesterol level in blood. Olive oil is also enriched with vitamin A and E that is anti-oxidant and prevents cells degradation while reducing skin wrinkles and increasing moisture.
4.Fruit and Vegetables
Greens are source of vitamin A and C. The former is anti-oxidant and help strengthen and repair skin. It also helps the skin system works efficiently leaving the skin radiant.
Vitamin C is the source of collagen that makes skin firm and flexible.
5. Clean drinking water
A pregnant woman should drink at least 6-8 glasses of water a day because it will make your skin bright, elastic and reduce skin problem during pregnancy. Water will improve blood circulation system so the nutrients can be transferred to the unborn baby efficiently. Water can also reduce constipation, improve digestive system and detoxify.
In addition to foods, you should regularly do exercise, get enough sleep and stay positive to keep your skin healthy.
