The last trimester has finally arrived! You must be excited to see your baby very soon. During this trimester, your body has a lot of work to do, and your weight gain might cause you ache all over since your baby is not so small now. Your baby is also developing very quickly at this stage. Let's take a look at what your baby is doing.
Fetus development in 7th month
Your baby now has a layer of fat covering its body to keep warm and to protect the skin. Its lungs are now fully developed, and those tiny eyes can open, meaning your baby can see light penetrating through your belly. It might react to loud noise by moving, and its heartbeat is affected by light and sound. The little one's taste buds are also developing past. If you baby is born in this month, the chance of surviving is very high because the important organs are developed enough for the baby to live outside the womb.
Fetus development in 8th month
Your baby is in the head down position, ready to come out and see the world. It is the size of a newborn, and is getting very strong by now. Since your baby's head is now down into your pelvis, when it moves, you might see its movement from outside. You might start experiencing some contraction, but it is not a sign of labor. The womb is just gently nudging your baby down, preparing it for birth.

Now your baby is all set to see you. It nails are growing fully, and its hair is about 1-2 inches long. If you're a first time mother, your baby's head will already be in your pelvis, and you can expect to see your baby anytime now. Most babies come out on their due date or within two weeks after that.
