Backache, cramped legs, moody, and stressful body symptoms are the changes that physically and mentally happen to the pregnant women. The medical treatment to relieve these symptoms may be worried about possible side effects to the babies. Nowadays, there is another popular method that uses scents for treatment or so-called “Aromatherapy” which uses natural essential oil for treatment and balance of body’s physical and mental condition. Aromatherapy helps pregnant women to feel fresh, joyful, relaxed, and well recovered from stress and tiredness.
Suitable scents for pregnant women to increase refreshment and relaxation, such as:
• Lemon and orange scents : help to refresh, relax from stress, and relieve queasy feeling. For massage, these scents will improve blood circulation.
• Lavender scent : helps to relax and relieve dizziness. For massage, this scent will make it easier to get to sleep and relaxed from tiredness.
• Jasmine scent : helps to get clam, cheerful, and relieve engorged breast symptom after giving birth.
Scents that pregnant women should avoid
Pregnant women should avoid some scents because they release concentrated scents such as peppermint, roses, rosemary, chamomile, time, wintergreen, marjoram, merr, and cinnamon.
Although “Aromatherapy” helps mother-to-be feel fresh and relax from stress during pregnancy, but some scents of essential oil are harmful to mothers and babies. Mothers should select suitable essential oil and use it correctly for safety of both mother and the baby.
